Supervision and Mentoring for Counsellors, Therapists and Other Helping Professionals
Why come to me for coaching or mentoring?
- My experience includes managing my own teams in the government, community and business sectors, mentoring managers and team leaders, and providing clinical supervision to professionals in helping roles.
- I have written two books on private practice, write a regular column on private practice for the national journal, Counselling Australia, and publish a newsletter for other private practitioners
- I have a genuine interest in seeing other practitioners do well and feel satisfied in their work
- You will find me easy to talk to, happy to share from my experience, and willing to freely share resources
- You will have direct access to me by telephone or email to ask questions between sessions
- You will receive special discounted rates to my seminars and Long Lunches for Private Practitioners
- You will enjoy freshly brewed tea or coffee when you meet with me. I see people in a lovely environment - at Starbucks Cafe, on the Esplanade, opposite Mooloolaba Beach - Here is the view!
When are supervision or mentoring sessions scheduled?
I see people by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will work out a time that suits us both. I also consult by telephone with practitioners throughout Australia. If you have booked a telephone consultation, I ask you to call me on my direct line 0406 402 800 at the arranged time.
To gain the most benefit from supervision or mentoring, I recommend meeting on a regular basis. Most professional associations require their members to have a minimum of 10 supervision sessions each year. In relation to Mentoring sessions, to gain the most benefit, I recommend monthly meetings.
You can combine both supervision and practice mentoring in your sessions with me if you wish. You set the agenda and can discuss complex or difficult cases, practice marketing, professional development issues, or other matters of importance to you. Consultations are of 50 minutes duration.
What is your investment?
Supervision or Mentoring with me is $150 per 50 minute session. There is no charge for brief telephone calls or emails between sessions requiring less than 15 minutes of my time. Lengthier contacts are debited pro-rata against your account.
As an employment-related expense, consultations are fully tax-deductible.
Payment is required on the day unless prior arrangements have been made. Payment can be made by cash, credit card or a cheque made out to Ken Warren and Associates.
Nice things people have to say
"I place a very high value on the Supervision and Mentoring provided by Ken. Not only does he advise out of his years of experience, he also models that advice himself - he practises what he preaches. I also appreciate his availability for consultation between sessions. I leave sessions feeling challenged at times, but always affirmed and empowered." Elaine Davis, Counsellor and Group Facilitator in Private Practice, www.elainedavis.com.au
"I really appreciated Ken's e-books on private practice. I found his approach down-to-earth and a good fit with my approach. I also enrolled in Ken's Long Lunch - Private Practitioners' Roundtable, which had a very relaxed and open atmosphere. I learned a great deal from other practitioners in what they face as issues and how they deal with these. It was a great way to network in such a beautiful environment and also gain the guidance of a true professional in the field. I now have the feeling that I am heading in the right direction to building my dream successful private practice. I would recommend Ken's private practice e-books and Roundtable to any practitioner." Josephine Luna, Private Practitioner, www.restorebalance.com.au
"I have no hesitation in recommending Ken to anyone seeking Clinical Supervision or Mentoring. Ken draws from a wealth of experience gained in private practice over many years. This combined with a real flair for innovation and marketing savvy, make him ideal for anyone either starting in private practice or looking to advance their business. I consider myself very fortunate to have Ken Warren as my supervisor." Orrell Battersby MA, M Min, MACA (Qualified), Relationship Counsellor in Private Practice, www.lifeblend.com.au
"I came away from my meeting with Ken brimming with the new ideas and enthusiasm for my private practice - a very relaxing and enjoyable way to learn!" Wendy Mead, Life Coach, Sunshine Coast, 0417 448 722, wendy.mead@bigpond.com
