Co-ordinated government and community programs in the prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS, conducted education programs, and facilitated funding of services.

Planned and conducted training programs for both telephone-based and face-to-face counselling staff, managed my own counselling caseload, and conducted therapeutic groups.

Provided counselling for Injecting Drug Users, conducted education programs, and undertook community development projects seeking to prevent the transmission of HIV / AIDS.

Career achievements

  1. In Feb. 2009, I achieved recognition as a Professional Member of the National Speakers' Association of Australia. This accreditation recognises expertise, enterprise and eloquence as a professional speaker and is held by only 46 other people in Australia.

  2. During 2000 - 2008, have authored two books for private practitioners and 15 training programs for managers, helping professionals, and front-line staff. Each year, I speak at over 50 conferences, seminars, and workplaces throughout Australia.

  3. During 1998 to 2009, wrote a weekly column on personal and workplace relationships for the Sunshine Coast Daily, which led to columns in other regional newspapers, professional journals, and a weekly radio interview.

  4. During 1994 to 1998, secured over $1 000 000 worth of funding for new programs while employed at Lifeline Sunshine Coast and recruited, managed, and supported the associated staff.

  5. In 1990, established the Sunshine Coast Intravenous AIDS Association (now QuIHN) which conducts a range of health education and harm minimisation programs for injecting drug users.
